abstract
| - __NOWYSIWYG__ My proposal is quite simple: I'd like to remove "Is not an administrator or bureaucrat" as one of the requirements to be eligible to be voted user of the month. I never understood why that was there, considering that administrators put just as much effort into this wiki as other users. I don't see why they should be excluded from being eligible for UotM. 14:28, March 5, 2014 (UTC) I agree per LL. Also, the way it is now gives the impression that administrators are high above other users, when, though they are to be more highly respected since they have earned the position through proving their worth, they are indeed only enforcers of the agreed upon policies and should be treated similarly to the way any other user is treated, and, therefore, deserves to be recognized in the same way as well. 15:49, March 5, 2014 (UTC) It does seem appropriate to change it, especially now. I'll support removing it. -- 15:57, March 5, 2014 (UTC) I think the purpose of having that was because administrators are 'supposed' to contribute qualitative and, with my understanding, quantitative edits. As it says on the admin page:
* An active status is defined as
* Continuing substantial contributions...
* A steady flow of such contributions, defined as editing on most days each month. Thus, administrators are 'supposed' to constantly meet the UotM requirements. With that being said, they should be eligible to receive UotM after having become administrators, because they do continue to work on the wiki; as Ziryerx stated, 'it gives the impression that administrators are high above other users'–they're too 'good' for UotM, as it were. I support the removal. 22:01, March 5, 2014 (UTC)
