The physician Gorgidas did what he could but he was not expected to survive. However, Minucius lasted long enough to be carried by litter to Imbros. There Apsimar, a priest of Phos, placed his hands on either side of the wound and a "flow of healing" came. The magic left Minucius with a white and puckered scar to the left of his navel but well healed. He announced he was hungry in a matter-of-fact voice and had no memory of his injury.
