Cygnus Liberation Air Force was a post-War Insurrectionist group on the planet of Cygnus. The CLAF was formed by two frontier units of the Cygnus Air Militia that took part in the Battle of Grasok Run. After the battle, the units, who had already had Insurrectionist leanings amongst their personnel, despite UNSC attempts to root out rebel sympathies, and were bitter over having to aid the UNSC in reneging on its alliance with the Insurrectionists, officially 'disbanded'.

  • Cygnus Liberation Air Force was a post-War Insurrectionist group on the planet of Cygnus. The CLAF was formed by two frontier units of the Cygnus Air Militia that took part in the Battle of Grasok Run. After the battle, the units, who had already had Insurrectionist leanings amongst their personnel, despite UNSC attempts to root out rebel sympathies, and were bitter over having to aid the UNSC in reneging on its alliance with the Insurrectionists, officially 'disbanded'. The units eventually reappeared nearly a year later, however, they were down to seven sparingly used, lightly armed aircraft. The majority of their remaining personnel performed raids on spaceports and UNSC Air Force installations, with the hope that they would be able to use it for two purposes. One, to cut off the planet and weaken the UNSC's airpower, and two, to be able to possibly gain a bigger foothold in the power structure after the planetary government fell. The CLAF had grand plans, including one intended to starve the planet into submission, all the while blaming their own raids on false flag operations conducted by the UNSC. However, none of these plans ever came close to fruition. Most Insurrectionist power had been destroyed after the Battle of Grasok Run, allowing none of the CLAF's schemes to go beyond the theoretical stage. As a result, the group was effectively gone by 2567.
