The Language of Bees is a book by Laurie R. King and was published in 2009. It is the ninth book in the Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes mystery series. Russell and Holmes have finally returned home to Sussex after their adventures in India (The Game), Japan (Dreaming Spies) and California (Locked Rooms), and Holmes is quickly caught up in trying to explain the death of an entire bee hive while they were gone. But that is soon overshadowed by the appearance of Holmes' son, Damian Adler, who is distraught over the disappearance of his wife and son. They are soon embroiled in a battle with the head of a religious sect who believes they gain power through human sacrifice.
