Several of the Yalekins had been slain in the woods , but the clan-hold was so closed to outsiders that the matter was little more than a rumor outside of the Yale. Grammy Yale, the bitter matriarch of the clan , planned on taking revenge. Her wild grandsons, Samwise Axeward and Lolly Snipe, both having served as scouts with a Cardolannon mercenary company, were the instruments of her schemes. Cooler heads in the clan were secretly trying to contact Blanco Fallohide to avoid murder and war.
