Gettysburg is a small nation-state in southern Pennsylvania centered in the city of Gettysburg, known for the Battle of Gettysburg of the American Civil War and the resulting Gettysburg Address, and formed out of the need for security following Doomsday. Although it was abandoned after unfounded fears of nuclear fallout from what was once Philadelphia and Harrisburg reaching them, most of its population returned after these fears were put to rest.
