Drylutch were a sentient subspecies of the Dylutch species. They lived in the arid regions of the planet Laer. Due to their environment, The Drylutch developed scales and the ability to go long periods of time without water (up to 3 months). They slightly resembled Trandoshans because of these adaptations, and some scientists started wondering if they were related. They were considered reptilian, even though their ancestors and closest relatives, the Dylutch, were amphibious. Some considered them as a separate species instead of a branch of the Dylutch species. They were sometimes called Scalys by Laeric and Dylutch people.
