Ethel Leathers was the daughter of George and Nancy, and sister to Vera and Ida Leathers. When Ida was hit by a bus and killed she sent widowed brother-in-law Frank Barlow a telegram saying that she and her husband George could not attend. Frank and Ken recall a childhood memory of Ken's in which themselves and Ida visiting Ethel and George, where their garden had a pond where Frank and Ken played. Neither Ethel or George have visited the Barlow family.
