In a desperate attempt to sleep with another woman before Petra arrived, Barney resorted to Pauline, a bodybuilder from his gym, who had been 'into' him for "quite a while". A week later, Ted checked out Pauline in the magazine “Muscle Sexxy”, and conveyed great disgust.

- Pauline is the original damsel-in-distress whom Mario must rescue from the eponymous ape in the original Donkey Kong. In the same way Mario was originally called "Jumpman," Pauline was simply referred to as "Lady" in Japan. It was during the game's distribution in North America that she was given the name Pauline after Polly James, the wife of Nintendo of America's warehouse manager, Don James. Following her first appearance in Donkey Kong, Pauline appeared in Family Basic and in Pinball for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Princess Peach, who was introduced in Super Mario Bros., took Pauline's place as the damsel-in-distress in that game, eventually becoming Mario's primary romantic interest in most of the subsequent games in the series.
- Pauline was the third ex-wife of Rob Deamer and former stepmother of Gwen Deamer. They married sometime after Dana's death. Not much is said about her relationship with Gwen as her stepmother. Lilly called her in to talk about her marriage to Rob. She was only married to him for two years. She states that she was tramuatized by her ex-husband due to his possessive and controlling nature. Since the marriage was short, it appears Pauline had no real time to become acquainted with Gwen. And may have never told her former stepdaughter of her father's behavior.
