abstract
| - The Reichsbank is the central bank of the New German Reich. It was established in 2016 using the assets of the former Preußische Bank. The Reichsbank is responsible for the administration of the internal account settlement and banking system, the issue of money and control of money circulation within Prussia, administration of the exchange control regulations and settlement of foreign currency accounts with overseas companies and governments. In addition, the bank buys and sells financial securities and administers the purchase, sale and holding of precious metals for foreign exchange purposes. The bank is also responsible for the account processing of the state institutions and state-owned public enterprises, (AG), having at least one main branch in each of the administrative subdivisions (Kreise) of the New German Reich. The bank also operates as a commercial bank, offering private and commercial customers a universal range of services in private, industrial, investment and foreign business. This includes loans, securities trading and asset management, as well as mid-term and long-term bond issuance and securitization. The Reichsbank also controls the Savings Banks (Sparkassen), which provide financial services to the population of the smaller settlements. The Reichsbank is politically subordinate to the Reich government, as made explicitly clear by law which defines the Bank as an organ of the Reichs Ministry of Finance.
