Hurack was the first Guard Captain of Frostkeep to appear in in-game history. He was originally from Tarloc, and considered to be a 'good but harsh man'. However, during the first battle of Frostkeep, Hurack betrayed Frostkeep and it was revealed that he was a Blackguard of Cyric, planning to seize control of Frostkeep with the hordes of undead in the crypts and other means that remain unknown to most. • Hurack was the first Guard Captain of Frostkeep to appear in in-game history. Adventurers found out that he had been working together with Zerion to open some kind of Arithmian prison or portal for a woman known as Lady Shadoweye. To do this he needed some sort of key hidden in the deepest chambers of the Frostkeep Crypts, blocked by fallen debris. Hurack therefore kidnapped miners from the Frostkeep Iron Mine and turned them into undead. The undead miners had then been ordered to dig through to the deepest chamber. To keep curious adventurers away from the crypts, Hurack animated more undead. Eventually he had the crypts locked down due to the overwhelming amount of undead, since Frostkeep's forces had to focus on the threat of orcs to the east. Some adventurers still managed to get into the crypts though, and accidentally let undead out in Frostkeep. Hurack was quick to punish the grave robbing halfling Kira of Saxenshire, and had her executed to set an example. During the battle of Frostkeep, the undead miners had finally reached the inner chamber where the item Hurack sought was. Svart Aere followed him into the crypts and killed him in battle. It is said that Hurack's restless spirit still lingers in the depths of the crypts.
