The Hornet-class Interceptor is the Tenloss Syndicate answer to the Empire's Tie Fighter. Like its inspiration, it is reasonably fast, very maneuverable, and very short-ranged. The engineers behind the Hornet also managed overcome some of its inspirations weak points, including lack of shielding and a more powerful armament. However, it sports several innovations that set it apart from most fighters. These include a detachable ejection cockpit(like the B-wing) and turbocharged laser cannons. Turbo-charged laser cannons are exceedingly powerful weapons. Each one's output is equivalent to several normal laser cannons combined. However, it sports several innovations that set it apart from most fighters. These include a detachable ejection cockpit(like the B-wing) and turbocharged laser cannons. Turbo-charged laser cannons are exceedingly powerful weapons. Each one's output is equivalent to several normal laser cannons combined. However, they tend to be rather unstable and often explode under sustained use. For these reasons, many Hornets have the turbo-charging mechanism removed or disabled leaving the ship's armament as a pair of heavy laser cannons. While originally only found in the Tenloss Sydnicate, copies of the craft have profilerated throughout the outer rim finding users who range from pirates and other criminals to security forces and planetary governments.
