The Die Spinne Tesla zeppelin was the most common zeppelin type deployed by the sinister organisation. Small by zeppelin standards, the Tesla zep carried a minimal crew but was exceptionally heavily-armed, designed to combat enemy fighters. The Tesla zeppelin was armed with two machine gun turrets, a single top-mounted magnetic missile launcher, and a ventral Tesla projector. It was this last that gave the Tesla zeppelin its name. The Tesla zeppelin was first deployed in combat as part of the Second Battle of the Lost City, and was the first wave of the Battle for Chicago.

While an effective anti-aircraft zeppelin, the Tesla zeppelin was vulnerable to aircraft-carried anti-zeppelin weapons.
