Flying Guards are a Mutant species in early versions of Random Kingdom III. They have an indistinguishable mixture of humanoid, mechanical and insectoid features, humanoid bodies with visible external wiring and metal exoskeletons, as well as an additional pair of vestigal arms, capable of flying with a pair of insect-like wings. They have a single large eye in the center of their face, or alternatively six smaller eyes in parallel arrangement at the sides of their head. In some, the lower part of a human face is visible, but in others, the entire face is covered in exoskeleton, with no visible mouth. It may be that their insectoid features are actually mechanical and that there is no bio-engineered insectoid admixture. They are capable by attacking with powerful air blasts generated by th

They have an indistinguishable mixture of humanoid, mechanical and insectoid features, humanoid bodies with visible external wiring and metal exoskeletons, as well as an additional pair of vestigal arms, capable of flying with a pair of insect-like wings. In some, the lower part of a human face is visible, but in others, the entire face is covered in exoskeleton, with no visible mouth. It may be that their insectoid features are actually mechanical and that there is no bio-engineered insectoid admixture. They are capable by attacking with powerful air blasts generated by their wings, or with stingers grafted to their arms and onto mechanical tails that some sport in place of legs. Their social structure also superficially resembles that of insects, a alrge hive with a queen at the top, although the queen does not seem to be in, or limited to, a purely reproductive role. Only a single hive of the beings appears in the course of the game, led by the Amber Queen. It is never elaborated wether other hives exist, led by their own queens, or wether the Amber Queen and her hive are infact the entire species. The hive was infact dormant, and propably these beings were intended to be so. Their activation was triggered by Siegfrieds entering of the lower bunkers under the Northern Capital, where it was found. It is propable that this species was one of many automated defense systems engineered by the either the RvneTek, or even the Heart of Darkness.
