Season 1 of The Dumping Ground aired from 4 January to 15 March 2013. With the exception of Dani Harmer (Tracy) and Saffron Coomber (Sapphire), the main cast from Tracy Beaker Returns returned for the new series. The series also introduced three new characters: Faith, a teenage girl who is training to be an athlete but has a past she would rather not talk about, Floss, a small girl with a mischievious streak, and Mo, a young eccentric boy who likes arts and crafts. The series also saw the departure of Noah Marullo as Gus, as well as the final appearances of Kay Purcell as Gina and Jessica Revell as Elektra.
