- Power Zone is a former late night action block that debuted in 1996 on Cartoon Network, airing shows such as Speed Racer, Fantastic Four, and Super Friends, among others. Power Zone supplanted Afternoon Adventures as the flagship weekday afternoon action block in 1996. In the fall of 1996, the block was canceled. After which, there was no permanent action block on Cartoon Network until the debut of what would become Cartoon Network's most popular action block, Toonami, which saw it's first broadcast on March 17, 1997.
