He joins her on a whirlwind of death and debauchery, and when captured by the FBI tries to confess to all their crimes alone, looking to protect her. Crystal, however, has other plans, and kidnaps Megan Reeves in hopes of forcing the FBI to release her lover, and when she herself is gunned down trying to take out Don's team, Buck ends up looking at life behind bars.

A couple of years later he escapes, and hunts down Don, supposedly for revenge, but hoping, in fact, that he can push Don into doing the same thing he did to Crystal - put a bullet in Buck's head. Whether life really goes on for him or not thereafter is never revealed.
