No longer the mainstay of Cassaran Star Republic fleets, and lacking the firepower to be a heavy cruiser, it was remade into an assault cruiser to carry soldiers into battle. Able to hold its own against most destroyers and lesser vessels it is still a formidable warship. Its shielding was upgraded and its armor plating trimmed down to make room for a larger hangar bay and armament.
