Tim Plewman played Alfie Vlok in the 2008 spin-off DVD Coronation Street: Out of Africa. An actor, writer and director, he has also appeared in Panic Mechanic, Krakatoa: The Last Days, Wild at Heart and his own production of the South African television series The Carruthers Brothers. He and his wife, Cathy, run a highly successful production company, Plewman Productions, which has produced 18 theatre and over 160 corporate theatre shows and videos and his one-man show, Defending the Caveman, won him the Vita Award for Best Comedy Actor in 1998 and it eventually closed after nine years and 1,544 performances.
