| - His Majesty Augustan I, King of Rutania (b.2905) was the monarch over the Commonwealth of Rutania. He was the founder of the House of Vandermark, the Royal Dynasty of the Commonwealth. His original name is Dedryck Vandermark, he was chosen to become the monarch of Rutania. His reigned lasted from 2958 to - 2978. Augustan, the first of the Vandermark rulers of Rutania, oversaw a stable period in the history of country, outside of Rutanian involvement in the Sekowan War. His youth was typical of the aristocratic Junkers of Rutania. He was privately tutored in his family's home during his father, Roel Vandermark's term as Prime Minister of the Commonwealth. Dedryck would then go on to the Army Academy, graduating in the middle of his class. Dedyrck was more interested in the liberal arts than military science. In 2931 he met Sophie Balfour, a descendant from the long-gone line of Aloria kings who ruled northern Rutania. They would go on to be married the next year and would have their first child and only child, Casimir in 2945, during the transition period of Rutania's traditionally republican government structure into the liberal monarchy. Augustan is a staunch advocate for the Rutanian Church and in so doing has created made the church into a 'de facto' religion in the traditionally secular Commonwealth. Augustan died shortly after his son, Casimir I of Rutania, took the throne, after a massive and crippling stroke.
