The Demiplane is a local vault roleplay server that allows players to create nearly any character concept. Using the Toolset, there are limitless ways to customize characters. Players can create areas and scripts to further their story, and the content will be added into the module upon approval. Hosting and the technical aspects of running the server are what the module creators enjoy most besides the game itself. Even though official support for Neverwinter Nights has been slowly removed, Demiplane will continue to run.

  • The Demiplane is a local vault roleplay server that allows players to create nearly any character concept. Using the Toolset, there are limitless ways to customize characters. Players can create areas and scripts to further their story, and the content will be added into the module upon approval. The world was originally created by two brothers in 2006. They were inspired by similar local vault servers that had active player bases at the time. Demiplane survived on an old USB stick which eventually led them to re-host this module. The module is designed to have detailed areas that are easy to navigate, with a focus on player-driven plots using epic characters. The module has been improved and expanded since its creation. A large, 40-area dungeon called Dwelmerdelve was made, and it is challenging even for well-equipped level 40 characters. Players are encouraged to customize their builds and equipment in order to explore these areas. A subterranean environment was also created that houses a drow city, and more areas exist that reach deeper into the plane. These underground areas are interconnected, and it will take some time to explore them all. Special attention has been paid to the layout and appearance of each area throughout the module. One difficulty with local vault roleplay is the possibility of players logging in with hacked or overpowered items. A group of item filter scripts solve this problem, and the scripts have been tweaked over the years to where they can purge all hacked items. The items are not destroyed, but the illegal item properties themselves are removed. Hosting and the technical aspects of running the server are what the module creators enjoy most besides the game itself. Even though official support for Neverwinter Nights has been slowly removed, Demiplane will continue to run.
