Piacenzian (also known as Astian, Redonian, or Romanian) is an European Land Mammal Age of the Pliocene Epoch. It spans the time between 3.6 ± 0.005 Ma and 2.588 ± 0.005 Ma (million years ago). It is usually referred to as the Early Late Pliocene, and sometimes, unofficially, as the Middle Pliocene. It is roughly coeval with the European Mammal Neogene faunal stage 16 (MN 16), overlaps the late Chapadmalalan and early Uquian SALMA ages, and falls inside the more extensive Blancan NALMA age.
