Although Meelo is still pretty much a dumb kid in general, some of his personality changed drastically, as well as his appearance. The proposal reflects on the obvious changes in his appearance and the new expression -while having the obvious downside of a shadow on his face- does portray his new determined "I'm the best thing ever" attitude that he generally sported in Book 4.
