- In the Republic this was an elected position used for desperate times. The dictator was above the reproach of the law, unlike any other branch of the government of Rome. The Emperor replaces the need to ever require a Dictator. See alo: Magistrate
- The powers of a dictator are the powers to oppress people and to make laws or acts without consent from whoever. They have a power called Unlimited Power. There are many types of dictators in the world today such as the just overthrown Mubarak of Egypt. Some Dictators are decent but others such as Zambabwe's dictator misuse their power much to the discontent of the civilians. Hitler of one the most well known dictators was thought to one of the most powerful leaders in the world before he started world war II.
- Yeah....Dictators. They're the guys who do stuff. The stuff that the other guys don't like, right? I think they originate from some place and some guy, I think he was a drunk or something, and he said a proclamation saying, "I'm the leader and stuff." Some crap along the lines of that...
- Dictator is a medium hull in Tanki Online, which is unlocked at the rank of Private. It is heavier and slower than Viking, yet is lighter and faster than Titan.

- Dictator (lat.dictator = cel ce poruncește) este un termen ce provine de la funcție politică din timpul Republicii Romane. Această funcție apărea printr-o hotărâre a senatului, în situații deosebite, când din rândul consulilor se alegea pe timp de 6 luni un „dictator” care avea puteri depline (summum imperium) și măsurile sale nu mai necesitau o aprobare a senatului, la expirarea mandatului nefiind judecat ulterior pentru măsurile sale.

- During the Roman Republic they often had a Dictator to lead them through the trouble era. Often the Senate would elect a Dictator for a specific term, but it has been known that the Senate would lengthen these terms if necessary or was bribed by those that wanted their ally to be Dictator. The Dictator had all the powers of a King, in all but the name. The Roman Republic still had an anger against Kings from its early age.
- If dictators then start handing power over to their biological descendants it becomes a Hereditary Absolute Monarchy like Saudi Arabia or North Korea. Dictator generally has negative connections attached to it, mostly because no one really wants to be ruled by the same person forever, especially if that is a person they didn't choose to be ruled by in the first place. Dictators almost always are corrupted by power and become tyrants.
