| - Some people are blessed with a charmed life. Sevdon (Sev DON Bay L) was the only child born to Wil and Ren Bael, an upper-middle class couple on the independent planet of Abridon. His parents provided him with all the love, affection and attention a child could ask for, from coaching his Limmie Team to taking him on Break Holidays around the galaxy. In turn, Sev grew up affable and well-adjusted. As a teen, Sev attended the prestigious Millard Academy in Ursk. He thrived in the academic environment, constantly scoring at or near the top of his class. He developed into a champion athlete, captaining the academy's Teras Kasi team, Limmie club, and starring as a 200m Hurdler. During several of the quarterly breaks throughout his schooling, Sev and his parents took Holidays to destinations around the galaxy. Sev learned to surf on Mon Calamari, he explored the Dune Seas of Tatooine, and walked through the ruins of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, as well as many other experiences. This trips introduced him to different cultures and ways of thinking, shaping his "unifying" philosophy on the Force. After graduating from Millard with Top Honors, Sev was selected for the elite Abridon Civic Corp, an exclusive grooming program that produced 10 of Abridon's last 12 Ministers of State, hundreds of Abridon Senators, and countless Ambassadors. The young man's future was bright indeed. However, while he was on a trip serving as an Ambassador's Aide in a minor border skirmish, Sev's latent talent with the Force began to manifest. The young man began to notice that his ability to read people had improved ot the point that he was nearly reading their minds and that his already superb reflexes were starting to border on the preternatural. At first, Sev was tempted to use his new-found talents for personal gain, eventually the sense of duty and responsibility his father had instilled in him and the compassion his mother blessed him with lead him to reveal his discovery to his mentor. Upon his revelation, his mentor suggested, with Sev's parents' loving encouragement, that the young man set off for Yavin VIII to join the Jedi.Background
Sev is a handsome and confident, bordering on arrogant, young man. He's excelled at nearly everything he's ever tried -- from sports to academics; friendships to courtships. This has lead to him developing a powerful expectation of success regardless of the challenge that faces him, making him a figure people find easy to follow. The young Jedi yearns for a return to the Halycon days of the Old Republic, harboring a romantic view of the Jedi as guardians of the galaxy. He believes that to return both the Jedi and the Republic to their former glory, the two organizations need to be more than allies, they need to be one and the same. In addition to supporting greater cooperation between the Order and the New Republic, Sev has also embraced many of the old ways of the Jedi. Renouncing attachments, he lives a life of self-denial and detachment from deep personal relationships. However, as with many traditionalists, Sev contradicts this philosophy with the close bond he still shares with his parents, including a dedication to regular letter writing to his father and mother detailing his adventures as a Jedi.Family
