abstract
| - On 22 November 2008 Bristol Rovers hosted Swindon Town in a League One fixture at the Memorial Stadium. The game was Rovers' seventeenth in the league during the 2008-09 season and their twentieth in all competitions. The Rovers starting eleven was unchanged from the previous match, a 2–1 defeat at the hands of Scunthorpe United, but there were two changes on the bench – Joe Jacobson and Sean Rigg both returning from injury layoffs to displace Tom Parrinello and Charlie Reece. During the game Rovers took the lead midway through the first half, thanks to Rickie Lambert's seventeenth goal of the season, but Swindon struck back six minutes before the break through Patrick Kanyuka. In the second half Barry Corr gave Swindon the lead, before Chris Lines grabbed an equaliser in the third minute of injury time. Lines received a second booking for his celebrations and spent the remaining seconds of the game in the dressing room.
