abstract	The Box Of Dirty Tricks is a magic box that appears in the cartoon show episode "The Box Of Dirty Tricks". It contains a mischievous evil spirit in the form of a pink cloud that tends to play all sorts of tricks on whoever owns the box. Although the box usually prevents the spirit from unleashing its full potential of causing trouble, it can still find ways to make trouble for whoever owns the box. As far as is known from the episode, the wise man on the mountain is the first to own the box and was now desiring to get the box off his hands when Gargamel paid him a visit for advice on how to get rid of the Smurfs. The wise man sold the box to Gargamel for a penny, who then took with him back home with the intention of using it on the Smurfs when the box created smoke and was too hot to touch. Gargamel dropped the box and it rolled down a hill and fell into the river at the bottom of a ravine, where it was soon discovered by the Smurfs. They brought it to the village with the hope that Papa Smurf might be able to open it so they could find out what's in the box. However, Papa Smurf suspects that it could be a trap set by Gargamel and so goes into the forest to gather ingredients for a transparency formula so they could see what's in the box without opening it. Papa Smurf warned his little Smurfs not to open the box while he is gone, but over the course of the night the temptation became impossible to resist and they ended up opening the box, finding out that there's nothing in it. However, they released the spirit that was inside the box, who now started trouble in the village by having the Smurfs fight each other. Soon Gargamel found his way to the village and not only captured the Smurfs, but also retrieved the box and the spirit that was contained inside it. When Papa Smurf came back to the village the following morning, he saw that the box was gone as well as all his little Smurfs, and that Gargamel has taken them both. Upon his arrival at Gargamel's hovel, Papa Smurf turned the evil wizard's "stew a la Smurf" into a transparency solution, making it appear as if the Smurfs were gone. When Gargamel looked around for the Smurfs as they invisibly escaped, he knocked over the magic box and released the spirit that was inside it, who now chased after and tormented Gargamel for sealing him up inside the box.
