  • John Flanagan (born 30th April 1947 in Ripley, Derbyshire) appeared on Coronation Street in January and June 1990 as Tim Arden, the father of Alec Gilroy's granddaughter Victoria. With an extensive acting CV dating back to the late 1960s, his other credits include roles in ITV Sunday Night Theatre, Callan, Z Cars, Parkin's Patch, The Sweeney, Thriller, Softly Softly: Task Force, The Enigma Files, Crown Court, The Practice, Emmerdale, Love Hurts, Peak Practice, Silent Witness, Casualty, Heartbeat, The Bill, Whitechapel, Lewis and Endeavour, while on the other side of the camera he has also penned episodes of Doctor Who, Boon, Robin of Sherwood, Coasting, Sleepers, The Good Guys, Pie in the Sky, Ballykissangel, Murder in Suburbia and The Royal.

  • John "Gussie" Flanagan was a bouncer at Dolly's in Las Vegas, Nevada. In September of 1996, he encountered LAPD detective Harry Bosch while Bosch visited Las Vegas to investigate the murder of Anthony Aliso. Bosch was looking for Aliso's girlfriend Layla who had been a dancer at Dolly's. Flanagan tried to get tough with Bosch, but Bosch beat up Flanagan. A few days later, Flanagan was at the safehouse where Eleanor Wish was being kept. Tom and Jerry were also present. Flanagan surprised Bosch while he as handcuffing Tom and Jerry. Bosch's partner, Jerry Edgar, then surprised Flanagan, allowing the two cops and Wish to escape.
