  • A pocket dimension is a magical space created outside conventional time-space by a powerful mage. The most prominent example would be the pocket dimension created by the Book of Darkness, where Hayate Yagami and, later, Fate Testarossa were trapped in A's. Garden of Time may have been Precia Testarossa's pocket dimension but it may have just as well been a normal fringe dimension.
  • Pocket dimensions are referred to by various characters, although some of the most obvious examples of this are in the Runecrafting Guild, where Wizard Elriss and similar scholars are studying them, amongst other subjects. The runecrafting altars found throughout Gielinor are a major example of this. The altars are pocket dimensions said to resonate with their respective energies; for instance, the air altar resonates with the most air magic of any location in Gielinor. According to Estate agents throughout Gielinor, mages have used pocket dimensions to create Player-owned houses.
  • Another Dimension that is not so "other". Pocket Dimensions are spaces that are too small or too easily accessible to be truly considered a separate dimension and are referred to as a small extra pocket of space that is attached to our own. Much like an actual pocket, they are often used for some extra space where you can get things Bigger on the Inside. A Speculative Fiction favourite, the uses are plentifold. Storage for a Bag of Holding, hiding places, transportation, an explanation for physics defying superpower: a Pocket Dimension can do them all. Can't make julienne fries though.

Also can serve as a (sometimes unstable) Small Secluded World with its own ecosystem and lifeforms. This is a quite handy place for keeping some nasty lurksome monsters; it lets them be very alien and make intermittent contact. See also Just One Second Out of Sync which is often exactly the same but explained in terms of a temporal fashion than a spatial one. Not to be confused with a Palm OS game of the same name. Apparently pocket dimensions can be "flattened" and physically brought into their host world by extremely powerful mages. According to the Oneiromancer found on Lunar Isle, the astral altar was physically brought into Gielinor by the Moon Clan. According to Estate agents throughout Gielinor, mages have used pocket dimensions to create Player-owned houses.
