Mt. Sabre is the 2nd level in the Adventurer's Domain, based off the region of the same name from the NES game Crystalis. It is a large icy mountain with several cavernous areas to explore. There are many surfaces and slopes covered with ice, making them very slippery, and easy for the player to slide off into a bottomless chasm. Within the caverns, although there are less slippery ice patches, there are floors and ceilings lined with sharp stalactites and stalagmites, as well as thick ice walls that block passage and must be bombed to destroy.

Many of the enemies are taken from the original game, such as the red jellies, snow zombies, ice golems, and Draygonian soldiers. There are also a few enemies from other adventure/RPG games, such as Tektites from the Legend of Zelda series. The player should also be wary of suspicious ? Blocks (skinned to resemble the chests from Crystalis), as some of them may actually be enemies in disguise.
