West was born in Noble City on May 16 in 1961. He lived with his sisters in Little Europe but moved to Hurbanova in 1979. He joined the Reformed Traditional Party or RTP in 1992 and became active as a local politician. In 1997, he was elected as chairman of the RTP until 2004 when the party merged with Oceana Christians. He participated in the elections of 1998 and 2002 but did not get a seat in Congress. He again became chairman of the RTP, a post he is still holding, when it was reformed in 2010. For ten years, he did not have a function but he participated in the 2010 Federal Elections and was elected as a member of the 2011 Congress and also of the 2012 First Congress.
