| - Seleucus I Nicator (c. 335 BC – 257 BC) (Greek: Σέλευκος Α΄ Νικάτωρ) was the Basileus of Isauria. He was the second youngest son of Perséas VIII,the last Emperor of the first Diadochian Empire. He ruled over the largest piece of the former Diadochian empire. After the death of his father Perséas in 319 BC, political instability ensued, and young Seleucus initially stayed out of the fray until his uncle Antigonos Monophthalmus, seeing him as a rival for the imperial throne tried to have him murdered. At the death of his father Seleucus was appointed Satrap or Govenor of Chaldea. The province was just outside Pasargadae, the ancient capital of Persica. The wars involving his brothers and his uncle's led to his being forced to flee Chaldea in 317 BC; and he was only able to return to Chaldea in 308 BC with the support of his brother Alexander. Seleucus like his brothers and his uncle claimed the imperial title; but unlike his brothers and uncles he was in possession of the Diadochian ancient capital, Persepolis in addition to the whole of Mesopotamos, Isauria, Amnion, Phrygia, Cappadocia, Persis, Hyrcania, Bactria, Sogdiana, Arachosia.
