The monument is a tall, four-sided, narrow, tapering construction which ends in a pyramid-like shape. It has a height of 65 meters (including the pyramid-shaped end and the large pedestal). The creation is made of 200 golden, riveted, iron plates on which are listed all the names of the villagers who died during the Great Fire. The construction was projected by the third village head: Arata Uchimoto.
