| - Itami is unique in his ninjutsu arts, especially within his own Uchiha clan. He does not possess an affinity for the fire element, or any element, for that matter. His techniques hinge around his own gift, his ability to convert his chakra into psionic energy. This grants him telekinetic powers, powers that he has harnessed and trained to their full potential. His psychic abilities have been weaponized in the process of his training to control them. The dangerous level of power that Itami possesses commands respect, and coupled with his intellect, many say that the Uchiha's mind is the only weapon he needs. His various ways of utilizing his telekinetic skills, at their peak level, are capable of mass scale destruction. Itami's telekinetic ninjutsu are characterized by his chakra color, a ghastly midnight blue. Many have commented that despite the lethal nature that characterizes his techniques, they are visually transfixing, stunning in their sheer beauty. His specialized art, however, being rooted in the mind do have their consequences for Itami. Using too many of his less powerful techniques will eventually cause a splitting headache, and thus, he prefers to end fights quickly. The process of converting his chakra into authentic psionic energy is mentally taxing, as well. Given that his abilities are all active rather than passive, requiring that he call upon his own energies, almost all of his techniques when used in rapid succession will cause enough mental strain to force Itami to halt his onslaught. Another major impediment for Itami is in fact the psychological instability that stems from the difficulty of controlling his powers. The psychic nature of these powers renders them rather unpredictable, and thus, he constantly has to exercise conscious control over them. Of course, this is no easy feat, and the constant strain of reigning in his powers causes Itami to have the occasional fit of rage. In these sub psychotic episodes, he is particular annihilating, as he loses control over his powers. Itami’s special telekinetic powers are rather versatile. They have numerous offensive and defensive applications, and in fact, he needs no other type of techniques to supplement his fighting style. His telekinesis is so multi-purpose that it alone forms a fearsome combat style.
* Psychic Energy Attacks: Gathering psychic energy and then “loosing” it is Itami’s main offensive skill. He can do this by focusing energy into his palm to form a sphere, which he can then launch at his target. These focused energy spheres are rather powerful and capable of inflicting impressive amounts of damage. He can also simply concentrate the energy into an aura surrounding his body and, using his arm as a conduit, take aim and release it in the form of an “energy beam.”
* Psychic Energy Conversion: Itami possesses the capability to absorb the energy transmitted from his thought waves and convert it into physical strength. Though this process takes a considerable amount of chakra control, this augmentation of strength can be concentrated to specific limbs; for example, by concentrating the converted energy into his legs, Itami can enhance his speed. Concentration of this energy into his upper body, specifically his arms, he can deal horrific blows in physical combat. It has been noted that this ability, this psychic energy conversion, makes fighting Itami in a straight-up taijutsu battle a rather daunting challenge.
