The High Tech Crime Operations Centre (HTCOC) was established in March 2008 as a portfolio within the Australian Federal Police. The role of the HTCOC is to: * provide a national coordinated approach to combating serious, complex and multi-jurisdictional technology enabled crimes, especially those beyond the capability of single jurisdictions; * assist in improving the capacity of all jurisdictions to deal with technology enabled crime; and * support efforts to protect the National Information Infrastructure (NII).
