by user DNL According to the Washington Post, Dennis Kucinich, a very liberal House member from Ohio (and erstwhile Oval Office seeker) will be filing Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney. Per the Post, here's there text of the Kucinich missive, sent to the other 434 House members: The Post has it right when they quote a Democratic operative who says, "We'll see a Kucinich Administration before we'll see a Cheney impeachment". Simply: it ain't happening. And in the process, Kucinich marginalizes himself, showing him to be the outsider he truly is. I say: Well played.

  • by user DNL According to the Washington Post, Dennis Kucinich, a very liberal House member from Ohio (and erstwhile Oval Office seeker) will be filing Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney. Per the Post, here's there text of the Kucinich missive, sent to the other 434 House members: April 17, 2007 Dear Colleague: This week I intend to introduce Articles of Impeachment with respect to the conduct of Vice President Cheney. Please have your staff contact my office . . . if you would like to receive a confidential copy of the document prior to its introduction in the House. Sincerely, /s/ Dennis J. Kucinich Member of Congress The Post has it right when they quote a Democratic operative who says, "We'll see a Kucinich Administration before we'll see a Cheney impeachment". Simply: it ain't happening. And in the process, Kucinich marginalizes himself, showing him to be the outsider he truly is. What the Post misses, though, is that there are a lot of people who, quite badly, wish Mr. Cheney and his boss gone -- and not in January 2009, but rather today. This letter and subsequent Articles is the red meat that the 1% of the population that supports a Kucinich Administration needs to keep them going. But the difference now is that the moral compass is pointing in Kucinich's direction. If this attempt -- doomed as it may be -- to impeach the veep turns into a 'net meme, Mr. Cheney's reputation will further collapse. I say: Well played. __NOEDITSECTION__ From The Opinion Wiki, a Wikia wiki. From The Opinion Wiki, a Wikia wiki.
