Alike the other Marvel superheroes, the Hulk ended up becoming infected with the zombie virus in the alternate reality Marvel series called Marvel Zombies. Unlike most incarnations of the Incredible Hulk, who are mostly aggressive, but good in nature, this zombified version of the green giant is even more of a rampaging beast who becomes eager to eat human flesh (definately much worse than his Ultimate Marvel counterpart). Nick Fury has contacted Bruce Banner to join the S.H.I.E.L.D. resistance after the zombie disaster just began on Earth, infecting both superheroes and supervillains. It is unknown who is responsible for Banner's zombification, but it is rumored that Reed Richards and the other zombified Fantastic Four members could have infected Dr. Banner, as they went on a rampage agai

Helicarrier. Later on, he and the other zombie superheroes join Firelord, Dark Phoenix, Gladiator, and Thanos after they devoured Galactus. The Hulk and the other superhero zombies walk back to Earth and found a colony of people in Wakanda, the Black Panther's home. Spider-Man and Luke Cage turned good again and fought the other zombies, including Banner himself. After he kills Iron Man by stomping on him and eats Reynolds, he turns back into Bruce Banner while redeeming himself, as he offers the others to kill him after he claims he can't control his green giant alter-ego at all and that he is too strong. Giant Man, Spider-Man, and Wolverine kill him and after he dies, Banner, along with Phoenix, Firelord, Iron Man, and Hawkeye, are barried with their superhero names written on their tombstones by Hank Pym.
