Story by Peter A. Worthy, published in Rehearsals for Oblivion (Act I). Professor Alison Engels and Royal Marine Sgt. Gabe Mungell arrive at Four Mile Hospital in search of their friend, Xavier Wilmarth who was investigating the seemingly-haunted hospital (Mungell and Wilmarth are both members of ISST) and who had in his possession a copy of The King In Yellow that they initially thought was Byzantine but which he now believed to be from the time of Alexander the Great. Several translations of the Play are discussed. Like Wilmarth before them, they find themselves caught into a dreamscape linked to the King In Yellow, which has overtones of the concept of Eternal War, formed from the mind of Colonel Thomas Atheling.
