Ancient Greek theatre revolved around comedy and tragedy. Comedy and satyr plays were, well, comedy and satire - whatever was considered funny. Tragedy, on the other hand, was more serious. The archetypical Greek tragedy revolved around the theme of conflict between the individual wishes and the duty.
