HiggleDiggle was discovered in May 2014 when ex-dominant male of the Baobab, Al Capone, was discovered in a wild group. Within the group was a "mystery” habituated male meerkat whose ID chip had become unreadable. For all of 2014 the group was difficult to track due to the majority of the members being wild. By the end of the year tracking of the group was suspended.
