The pods are bigger on the inside than the outside due to the compacting of relative transcendental dimensional spaces. Due to the Stargate network existing all through human history, the pods work by locking onto a Stargate at a certain point in its history and beaming the user to the desired location as long as its within a certain range of the Stargate. While the pods require a Stargate nearby for time travel, the Stargate does not have to be useable for it to work with even a broken nearby Stargate allowing the pods to transport a user. The pods are described as being little more than "glorified beaming devices" with the Stargate network doing most of the work. The pods are also capable of acting as teleportation devices and can be modified to lock onto another pod to target the transp
