Star Ocean 3 was so forgettable that I forgot it even made the contest when doing the vote-in writeups. Not that it meant much, since the reward was getting completely killed by Metroid Prime. This was actually a night match, and Metroid always has an outstanding board vote. This was over 80% for a time and fell down to 73. Imagine if this were a day match. Metroid Prime got to fire the first shot, and it had the advantage of getting the divisional final as a day match. The bottom-half games had quite the task ahead of them.

It was a nice beginning to a fairly relaxing Northeast Division, after the total chaos that was the North. Everyone knew this was coming down to Metroid Prime vs the Half-Life 2/God of War winner, with an outside chance of another game from the bottom half sneaking in there. But overall, this was nothing compared to people actually thinking Super Mario Sunshine was going to win three matches and perhaps challenge Fallout 3. Metroid Prime got to fire the first shot, and it had the advantage of getting the divisional final as a day match. The bottom-half games had quite the task ahead of them.
