Fossil evidence shows there was a strain of Blunging called Plodonklopus that evolved millions of years but died out. It didn't die out because it wasn't as well equipped as mordern-day Blungings - it was actually better equipped, faster, stronger, more intelligent and a prolific breeder. No one is sure why it disappeared, we think it just got bored.
