- An oddity (怪異, kaii, lit. "strangeness") or sometimes translated as apparition or aberration, is a phenomenon, usually of supernatural nature, in which a person or people is involved. The effects of contact with an oddity may vary. Certain oddities can't normally be seen seen by human eyes, but often once an oddity spots a "victim," it acts as a sort of magnet towards them and affects them in strange ways.

Certain oddities can't normally be seen seen by human eyes, but often once an oddity spots a "victim," it acts as a sort of magnet towards them and affects them in strange ways. Oddities are often alternatively translated as "apparitions," meaning some sort of supernatural being, or even "aberrations" meaning an unusual, usually unwelcome entity. From gods to the lowest monsters, all supernatural beings classify as oddities. Oddities are commonly represented by or take the form of an animal of some sort.
