  • Attack Dog is a perk in Fallout 4.
  • The Soviets once attempted to train so-called anti-tank dogs, nicknamed "bomb dogs," to deliver explosives to enemy tanks by diving beneath them and detonating them as they retreated. Although they were successful in operating in this manner, the plan ultimately backfired when the dogs attacked Soviet tanks rather than German tanks. Since the Soviets had used their own diesel-fueled vehicles to train them, the dogs' acute sense of smell was unaccustomed to the gasoline utilized by German tanks.

  • The Attack dog can instantly kill any infantry unit, but it first needs to get close enough without getting shot. It is extremely vulnerable to any attack. When the dog kills an enemy which is part of a group, it sometimes enters into a "killing spree", quickly jumping from one enemy to the next. Attack dogs are not fooled by the disguise of spys and will chase them on sight.

On main missions, they can be found on the level where you must sneak into the City of Pain, and also during the Brick Factory and Durgesh prison missions. Attack dogs are aggressive but run relatively slowly. Unlike their guard dog predecessors in Far Cry 3 that would attack creatures and predators larger than themselves, these dogs don't. Instead they will run from any wild predator. Wild herbivores will run from them but they won't give chase. If an enemy is killed and an attack dog is near by, it will bark alerting its comrades of the commotion, thereby putting them on high alert. The breed of these dogs are not specified, but they resemble a cross between a Rottweiler and a Doberman Pinscher.
