Kakita Sotaro was a bushi of the Doji lands who in secret praticed maho as bloodspeaker. In 1166 Iuchiban ordered his servants to strike out the Empire in a wave of murder, betrayal, and destruction. Sotaro killed his three sons and four grandsons, all proud samurai of the Crane Clan. His oldest son, Kakita Taro, faced him but Sotaro was more skilled. When the guardsmen came to him, Sotare committed suicide.
