- Vesper attacked the Hive with his warriors, hoping to plunder its incredible wealth and become the richest person in the Special Zone. The bee soldiers were able to keep the main wasp army at bay, but Vesper and a few of his men broke through the lines and infiltrated the Hive, reaching the throne room of the Queen Bee. However, once there, the men were disarmed by Sonic the Hedgehog, who easily defeated Vesper in personal combat. Nevertheless, when Vesper pointed out that the Hive would still be overrun through sheer numbers, Sonic agreed to surrender the Hive to the wasps.
- The town of Vesper was originally founded between Ultima III and Ultima IV. At that time the surrounding region was green and fertile. Vesper was a small village with a single large structure containing all its shops and most of its citizenry. It was one of two locations in Britannia sporting a guild shop (the other being Buccaneer's Den). Some time following Ultima IV the region experienced a severe drought and the inhabitants of Vesper abandoned the town for other parts of the world. During Ultima V and Ultima VI no visible structures remained of the town, however the gargoyle Sin'Vraal took up residence at the village's former site.
- Vesper had led his wasp army on an attack on the Hive at least once before his first appearance in Sonic the Comic. Despite this apparent defeat, Vesper regrouped his army and attacked again. On the second occasion, the wasps caught the bees off-guard and Vesper was easily able to fight his way to the throne room. However, he did not know that Sonic the Hedgehog also present and was left embarrassed when the hedgehog stole everyone's weapons. In revenge, Vesper tried to "squash" Sonic but missed, landing flat on his face. Vesper was left even more humiliated after a direct attack from Sonic, but was led to believe he had been victorious when Sonic surrendered the Hive on behalf of the Queen Bee.
