abstract
| - NICO is the National Internet Communications Organization of Ivalice. Headquartered in Randgriz City, Gallia, NICO is a government agency that was created on December 21, 1998, in order to oversee a number of Internet-related tasks previously performed directly on behalf of the Ivalician government by other organizations, notably the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). NICO is responsible for managing the assignment of domain names using the .iv country code top-level domain (ccTLD) and location-based IP addresses. NICO's tasks include responsibility for IP address space allocation, protocol identifier assignment, top-level domain name system management, and root server system management functions. To date, much of its work has concerned the introduction of new second-level domains (SLDs) using the .iv ccTLD.
