Litchfield County is located in the northwestern corner of the American state of Connecticut and is the core of Upstate Connecticut. Litchfield County also has the least population density among Connecticut's counties. As of 2004 the population was 189,246. This was an increase of 3.87% from the 2000 census. It is part of the New York-Newark-Bridgeport Combined Statistical Area. Largest city is Torrington, Connecticut.
