The Arachnid Nebula was an interstellar dust cloud located in the Alpha Quadrant, near Capella and some distance from the planet Vulcan. (ST reference: Star Charts) In 2151, the Enterprise (NX-01) and the Vulcan transport vessel Vahklas conducted a survey of the nebula. Following the conclusion of the survey it was discovered that the nebula was over 8 million kilometers in diameter and was composed of over 20 million cubic meters of disodium, and small traces of ethylchlorate.
